What Is Exxxotica?

The fan-first adult expo, from someone who works the floor.

By Raven Belle · Updated 2026-07-10

Exxxotica is the largest fan-facing adult expo in the country, and it's the one event on the industry calendar built for you rather than for us. You buy a ticket, you walk the floor, you meet the performers you follow, you take photos, you leave with merch and a story. That's the whole pitch. It works.

Here's the distinction that explains the entire event landscape: AVN and XBIZ are industry-first — awards shows and business conferences that fans can orbit. Exxxotica is fan-first. The show floor is the event. Performers work booths all weekend specifically to meet the people who watch us, and the access is the product. Nowhere else do you get that much face time with that many creators for the price of a ticket.

The practical shape of it: Exxxotica runs city editions through the year — Chicago's is every April at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, just outside the city, and the East Coast edition runs every fall in Edison, New Jersey. I've worked Chicago multiple years running and the Edison floor in 2025 — the recaps of every floor I've worked live on my events page.

What a weekend actually feels like from inside, day by day:

  • Friday is the soft open, and it's Ladies Free Friday — free entry for women, which genuinely changes the crowd. More couples, more friend groups, a more social floor.
  • Saturday is the busy day. Lines start early and the signings run at a steady clip until close. If there's a specific performer you're coming for, come Saturday but come early.
  • Sunday is the relaxed lap. Smaller crowds, easier conversations, more time per signing for the fans who waited.

What happens at a booth, since first-timers always ask: you come up, you say hi, and it's the easy version of meeting someone whose content you know. At mine, you typically left with a print, a photo, and probably a hug. Performers do these events because we like this part — nobody works three twelve-hour floor days for fun otherwise.

First-timer advice, from someone on the other side of the table:

  • You don't need an opener. "Hi, I follow you" is a great opener. We're happier to see you than you expect.
  • Bring cash for merch; lines move faster and some booths are cash-preferred.
  • The floor is 18+, the dress code is real-world casual, and the vibe is friendlier than the name suggests. People are nervous their first year and regulars by their second.
  • Check who's announced before you buy tickets. Lineups post on the expo's site and on performers' socials — I announce my booth dates on Instagram and X every time.

Is it worth it? If you've ever wanted your favorite creator to be a person you've actually met, yes — it's the best value in the industry for that. The whole event exists to close the distance between the content and the human. Curious how Exxxotica stacks up against the industry's other big events? I've compared AVN, XBIZ, and Exxxotica from the inside. Come say hi. That's what we're there for.
