The AVN Awards & Adult Entertainment Expo is the Oscars of the adult industry — except louder, longer, and held in Vegas. The 2025 show ran January 22–25 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, with the awards ceremony itself on Saturday January 25. I walked the AVN runway that week.
Walking the runway at AVN is a weird thing to describe to people who haven't done it. It's part fashion show, part industry meet-and-greet, part networking event in heels you regret by hour two. The fans are right there — close enough to make eye contact, ask questions, hand you a phone for selfies. The other performers are in the green room behind you, all of us trying to figure out how to keep lipstick on for ten hours. The crew makes it look effortless on the livestream. It is not effortless.
What's actually happening that week, beyond the cameras:
- Studio meet-ups for upcoming shoots — a lot of next year's catalog gets booked at AVN.
- The Adult Entertainment Expo runs concurrently, which means fan-floor signings during the day and award-show events at night.
- Industry awards across hundreds of categories. Even if you didn't win, you usually know someone who did, and you celebrate.
